While not a groundbreaking story, it did keep me interested throughout the length of the book, and it was an interesting take on the classic Cinderella story we’ve already heard so many times. In her attempts to save her sister she is caught up in a political plot involving the evil Lunar Queen, the dreamy Prince and of course Cinder herself.

Earth is ravaged by a plague, a plague that eventually is caught by her one non robot friend, her caring step sister, sentencing her to a slow and painful death. She is abused by her step mom and treated like a slave due to her legal standing. Her life is a bleak one, her only companion a small defective robot. Cinder, the titular character, is a gifted mechanic and cyborg living in New Beijing far in the future. A fresh and enjoyable take on a classic story, Marissa Meyer writes an intriguing and gripping remake of Cinderella.
